Hey, blog friends! Grant will have eye surgery this morning around 9:30. Some of you have asked to be updated, so just wanted to let you know. Thanks so much for praying! We are excited for him to be able to see out of his left eye again!

For those who don't know, while mowing at Camp Shetek last June, a rock ricocheted off a tree and struck Grant square in his left eye. It damaged his lens and pupil, and created a trauma-induced cataract. His vision has been very disabled since the injury. Today he will get a new lens! Praise the Lord!

Praying for you both today! My mom had cataract surgery a couple of years ago, and she loves her "new" eyes.

My husband sounds as careless as yours when it comes to mowing! Actually that would apply to anything that involves protecting his eyes, because he certainly does not think about eye safety. I am constantly cringing while debris and sometimes metal shards from other activity hit his face like confetti. How we have missed a trip to the hospital is beyond me. I do hope the healing process was not too stressful and maybe it even presented a growth to your marriage, Praise be to God!

Hello, I'm Summer. A people-loving introvert whose hope and life is in Jesus. His promises are my passion and my ministry is homelife. This blog is a place for me to write about everyday things. Especially food. My favorite thing to do is sit around a table, lingering over a long meal with good conversation. I live with my husband and our 2 littles. We like blizzards, thrifting, grammar, guacamole, cheerful hearts, nice manners, good movies, and making simple, real, nutrient-dense food.
