that decision has been made. and it's back to school i go! one week from today i will report to preschool. a random fact for your wednesday: i never went to preschool. oh, and i never say pre-k. strange.
for the 2009-2010 school year i will be helping my mother-in-law teach 4 & 5 year olds two days a week. woohoo! i'm excited to see the cute kids and learn all their names and get attached to them and help them write their lowercase letters and all that jazz. i wonder if they will call me 'mrs. harms' or 'summer.' or maybe 'miss summer.' i like that one. i've always loved the title miss. reminds me of my growing up days down in texas. (right, miss charlotte?) i am so thankful for this opportunity to learn more about education and discipline in this age group. i know i will so appreciate this experience when i'm raising my own kids someday. also i am completely grateful for a job that will still allow me to keep my role as homemaker first and true priority. lovely. life is good.
thanks for all your kind comments and for being excited with me as i start something new! you all are such delightful company. you make me want to write more and more. can't wait to find out what good things are in store for this school year.

Oh, that sounds like so much fun! Lucky you getting to go back to schoo. ; ) I've been missing it this year. So much so that I'm planning on starting to home-preschool my two year old this month.

Congrats on the new job! Miss Summer is great!

I taught preschool for a while and loved it. You will learn great life lessons... my favorite is: band aids and popsicles can make everything all right.

Thanks for helping out mom! I think you should go with Miss Summer too, because otherwise you won't know which Mrs. Harms they are talking to :)

Miss Summer reminds me of "Miss Honey" in "Matilda". Homepreschooling rocks (so far), so I know this will be great practice and fun for you. :) Ditto on the bandaids and popsicles.

Well then "Miss Summer" it is. I think the vote is unanimous. I am excited to have you for my helper. At conferences the kids were hoping that you would be back. And now Audra is also going to help so it will be "Miss Audra" too. Well I know you will have plenty to write about in your blog. Kids make such good writing material.

Hello, I'm Summer. A people-loving introvert whose hope and life is in Jesus. His promises are my passion and my ministry is homelife. This blog is a place for me to write about everyday things. Especially food. My favorite thing to do is sit around a table, lingering over a long meal with good conversation. I live with my husband and our 2 littles.
