i still remember how exciting it was to hear the garage door opening at dinnertime.. telling us you were home. no other sound was better. i remember hugging your knees and the buckles on your briefcase and the drawer where you replaced your watch and wallet. i remember begging you to make your belt go 'snap', before you changed out of your business attire.
your homecoming was the most exciting part of the day. i always knew you'd come. thank you for being there. for creating routines and traditions. for providing, protecting, and establishing a home for us. i love you, dad.
happy father's day!
ps. i just played the music box dancer on the piano for you.

about this blog

Hello, I'm Summer. A people-loving introvert whose hope and life is in Jesus. His promises are my passion and my ministry is homelife. This blog is a place for me to write about everyday things. Especially food. My favorite thing to do is sit around a table, lingering over a long meal with good conversation. I live with my husband and our 2 littles. We like blizzards, thrifting, grammar, guacamole, cheerful hearts, nice manners, good movies, and making simple, real, nutrient-dense food.

"If Christ be anything, He must be everything."
-C.H. Spurgeon
