with a few hours in a car ahead of us, we couldn't load up on everything, but we were able to get a few treats. grant's pick was a glass of fresh oj, his favorite, and i got a jar of buckthorn honey from a local farm. according to the nice man who let me sample about 15 types of his honey, he had just harvested it this week! i was pretty excited about the whole deal and gladly stood at his table for a good 20 minutes. and to top it all off, my mother in law snatched a free basil plant for me! basil is my new love. taking some home was the perfect end to our trip.

Oh free basil plant! Nice! I too have a love for fresh basil. Yum yum! And that orange juice looks good too.

about this blog

Hello, I'm Summer. A people-loving introvert whose hope and life is in Jesus. His promises are my passion and my ministry is homelife. This blog is a place for me to write about everyday things. Especially food. My favorite thing to do is sit around a table, lingering over a long meal with good conversation. I live with my husband and our 2 littles. We like blizzards, thrifting, grammar, guacamole, cheerful hearts, nice manners, good movies, and making simple, real, nutrient-dense food.

"If Christ be anything, He must be everything."
-C.H. Spurgeon
