lots of things in my thoughts today.
1. it is september. hooray! it seems like such a nice month, doesn't it? just don't remind me about summer being over.
2. the local apple orchard opened today. i am beside myself.
3. but i am content to wait a bit longer for my beloved regent apples, as i am still getting my fill of end of summer fruit. (peach crisp recipe coming soon.)
4. talked to my mom today. loved it. she and i can talk till the cows come home.
5. am trying out a new bread recipe as i type this. i have a handful of them! it's really exciting. i will let you know if this one's a keeper.
6. it is like 75 degrees. why am i not outside? oh, because i am waiting to punch down my bread.
7. an old friend posted a photo of my 3rd grade class today. it's so rad. thanks, allie!
8. am madly in love with this song that friends told me to listen to forever ago. thanks, friends.
9. if i told you that i am recording episodes of little bear to eventually put on dvd, would you believe me? (you should believe me. i love this show. i want to make sure my future kids can see it.)
10. thank goodness for the 6 o'clock news. it's one of my favorite constants in this world.
11. my little sister is a senior. whoa.
12. a great friend gave me a sack of clothes from her closet. it was better than christmas.
13. and my father in law just drove up with free watermelon, cantaloupe, and corn. sweet!!
14. zee avi sounds like a cross between norah jones, colbie caillat, and ella fitzgerald. i like.
15. this afternoon was a hard one.. but it ended sweetly. prayer is amazing! and God is so good. He is my joy and my salvation.

I'm so glad you love Marchin' On! That whole album is pretty awesome and one of my favorites. I liked the version you linked. Kind of techno.

this post was perfection. for the way you remember and document all the little details and let us 'see' inside your life. thank you.

am thinking of you and hoping you're doing okay. for such a cheerful gal, i never think that you'd have a difficult day. of course, i should let you be human. you're so good to give all credit to God. xo.

Oh, how I love this list of thoughts! I made peach crisp this summer and loved it...though I would have liked it to be less juicy so I'll be waiting for that recipe (no pressure). We love Little Bear and your kids will be set with books and a sweet show by the time they get here (what an amazing planner!). We're getting ready to have cooler, sunny temps and I can't wait...I'm itching to open a window. Talks with mom and free produce...priceless!

Hello, I'm Summer. A people-loving introvert whose hope and life is in Jesus. His promises are my passion and my ministry is homelife. This blog is a place for me to write about everyday things. Especially food. My favorite thing to do is sit around a table, lingering over a long meal with good conversation. I live with my husband and our 2 littles. We like blizzards, thrifting, grammar, guacamole, cheerful hearts, nice manners, good movies, and making simple, real, nutrient-dense food.
