i'm picking new things to look into in 2011. i can't wait! i did this last year and it was so much fun to have a goal in mind. i always knew i had the next book to borrow or another movie to catch.
am also reading pride & prejudice right now, but that one doesn't count because it's my third time.

I've seen the movie, "Wives and Daughters'' and it was wonderful. I'm sure the book is even better!
And I'm student teaching in Gretna...so not a super small town, but it does have a small town feel.
Animal, Vegetable, Miracle is wonderful. I'm going to look up Letters to Children, thanks for the suggestion!
I HIGHLY recommend throwing "Captivating" into your literature category. It is a very insightful book.
Love your choices though! :)
You better start reading/watching now...you have 20 weeks to cram all that in because your free time is about to be gone as you know it :)
An Old-Fashioned Girl--great read! I love Louisa May Alcott's work.
A Chance to Die--one of the books that I point to as impacting my life in a special way.
And Pride and Prejudice ALWAYS counts. I think I've read it about a dozen times, and I'm still counting it. : )
Super Size Me-gross. I don't think I've eaten at McDonalds since seeing it.
Eat, Pray, Love--it makes me hungry. ; ) Good thing Benjamin is of Italian descent and can cook amazing Italian-y things to satisfy my cravings.
Tangled--loved it!
I just finished Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. Highly recommended.
Also a big thumbs-up for The Game.
Love your reading list. Might just adopt it. And Social Network is awesome. As is babies. Let us know what you think. xo.
*gasp* I didn't know Green Dolphin Street was also a book! That's my favorite (beyond favorite) old movie...makes me cry every time. Have you ever seen the movie?
Jes
Have you read Eat, Pray, Love? I adored that book and was terrified they would botch it up in the movie. Wrong! The movie is just beautiful. And Social Network is an amazing movie. I think you will like both of them.
I'm currently reading Modoc. It's about an elephant and his trainer. I took it to the gym with me on Saturday, but I started crying while reading it on the treadmill. How embarassing! I won't be taking that book back to the gym!
I just saw Tangled yesterday with my little sisters and we loved it!
Also, I somehow happened to see "Simple Sewing for Baby" just the other day and thought of you. How funny!
Oh, nice list! I *love* The Big Sleep - hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Wives and Daughters is a great book. Loved it. Eat, Pray, Love...ok movie, ok book. Others on your list I love as well!
Also, the artist in "My Kid Could Paint That" is from my city! My mom taught her in school! I haven't seen the movie yet...let us know what you think!
i love elisabeth elliot. "the game" is crazy. i have babies and wives and daughters on my instant queue on netflix.
i have a list of movies and books that i want to read and watch too. it is always so much fun to cross them off.
You can watch Super size me on Hulu for free.
I love these lists. What a great idea! I loved the Social Network, and you better believe I'll be seeing Justin Bieber (even though I may be going alone...)
Just found your blog today and I'm a fan.
my husband and I watched BABIES the other night and loved it. he was not so excited about the idea of a documentary about babies, but ended up giggling through the whole thing!
Still trying to convince Luke to watch "The Game" with me (and "Gattaca", and "Bladerunner"), loved "Babies" (and have some funny stories of how my friends teased me about it...if you have the time sometime), but most of all I love your lists! :)
Animal, vegetable, miracle is a fantastic book. It made me want to move to the country and have my own farm. I think you are going to love it.
You need to add "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch to that reading list, if you haven't had the pleasure of encountering it already! I actually got it as an audio book so I could listen to it in the car... Simply amazing. I think I've read/listened to it about 5 times.
Great stuff on both those lists! I might have to steal a few for a list of my own! =)

I want to also recommend a book to you called "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers. It is a modern retelling of the book Hosea in the Bible and I think you will enjoy this immensely...I could not put it down and read it in 2 days.
