50thingswithkids

and so many more. i've had this list sitting in my google docs for awhile, slowing getting longer. it's mostly made up of happy memories from my own childhood and things i've dreamed about for the longest time. not included that i already wish i had added: dance to michael jackson, teach them about camp shetek, and grant would probably like them to watch star wars sometime, too.

there's actually only 49 listed, but i figured you wouldn't take the time to count, and if you did... you would just smile at me.

happy friday, friends.
from the one who can't wait to be a mom.

I rarely ever comment on blogs, but this brought me tears (of happiness). So many of these are things I loved about my own childhood, and so many of them are what I want to do with my own children someday. Thank you for this!

Love your list!! And love that you remembered to add dancing with MJ to it... some of the greatest memories I've had with my little man include Billy Jean and Thriller. Thank you for sharing!

Love this! <3 <3 <3 most of these are special childhood memories for me as well, and most of them I've already been able to do/work on with my boys! It's truly such a joy. You're going to love having a little person around. :D

I recognize alot of those things!! so thankful to the Lord that He has given you Grant, and thus, the privilege of being at home, to enjoy every last one of these things with your children, and to add many more!

ps. i have been reading "Keep a Quiet Heart" by E.E. and quite a few of the things on your list, were also on hers, for great child-rearing!!

Summer,

LOVE the list. I feel like those are all important things too! (Well those things that aren't personal to where you live...you know what I mean ;) ).

Anyways, I also want our kids to appreciate long car rides. We used to drive everywhere as a family (flying with 7 people was too much). I always look forward to roadtrips now. Happy Weekending!

so fun! i'm happy that with three kiddos at this point we've done a lot of those things on your list. so much fun (tonight my hubs and the two oldest went sledding down a hill by our house... a dream fulfilled for him on his birthday!) - for some reason i have this *feeling* that i'm not doing cool stuff with my kids. reading your list reminded me that the basic stuff is so special and grand. we did a lot of puzzles today and it was SO fun!

There are some real classics in here that I remember from my childhood. You and Grant are going to be amazing parents!

P.S. Chad and I just watched "This is It" last night! We love him!

I love this list. My baby girl is almost 7 weeks old and it's good to be reminded of these things through the fog that my mind is in right now. With a toddler and newborn the exhaustion is taking over, but this list reminds me again of why I love being a mom. Thanks for that! And, I love (!) Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Haven't seen it in forever!

about this blog

Hello, I'm Summer. A people-loving introvert whose hope and life is in Jesus. His promises are my passion and my ministry is homelife. This blog is a place for me to write about everyday things. Especially food. My favorite thing to do is sit around a table, lingering over a long meal with good conversation. I live with my husband and our 2 littles. We like blizzards, thrifting, grammar, guacamole, cheerful hearts, nice manners, good movies, and making simple, real, nutrient-dense food.
