September 11, 2011
i was just a young girl when september 11th became September 11th. but i wanted to do something. i knew something earth-shattering had happened. i prayed. i made up my mind that whenever i looked at the clock and saw 9:11, it would be my reminder. i would stop and pray for the families of the victims and for the nation.

it's amazing how many times that has happened in the past 10 years.
10 years.
thank you, Lord, for preserving our nation.

That's a beautiful way to remember 9/11! I always notice when the clock says "9:11" but it always just makes me feel sad. I never thought to pray. I'm going to start doing that now!

I have to say something. I typically look the other way when others speak about god, but in this instance, I cannot. Religion was part of the reason for the 9/11 attack, and it's a big part of many of the wars in this World. To give all the credit to a being that one religion (out of the many, many there are) believes in seems awfully inconsiderate of the people of this country who personally go out and fight for our country and keep it safe.

AMEN Summer.

My brother-in-law is a Marine currently serving overseas. I thank God that He is keeping our soldiers safe so that they can keep our country safe. I like your way of remembering. God bless America and those who died that day. Thank you for the beautiful reminder. Simple, but oh so sweet.

about this blog

Hello, I'm Summer. A people-loving introvert whose hope and life is in Jesus. His promises are my passion and my ministry is homelife. This blog is a place for me to write about everyday things. Especially food. My favorite thing to do is sit around a table, lingering over a long meal with good conversation. I live with my husband and our 2 littles. We like blizzards, thrifting, grammar, guacamole, cheerful hearts, nice manners, good movies, and making simple, real, nutrient-dense food.
