January 24, 2014

These are my kids. They're pretty cute. I'm loving that we have a brother and a sister in this house now. And pink clothes and blue clothes. And lots of big brown eyes.

Grant is at school right now, and that means that today is my first full day all by myself with two littles. (!!!) I prayed about this day a lot. And it's been going great. There have been lots of snacks and tv, but the diapers are getting changed and I got breakfast and lunch for all of us, and both my babies are sleeping at this very moment! So.... yay! Success. Thank you, Lord! It's been very blizzard-y in our town all week long, so we're kind of in an awesome "can't go nowhere and nowhere to go" mode. I think I'll just be hanging out here at home until spring. See you guys next week! I'm posting some yummy, one-bowl gluten free blueberry muffins that you won't want to miss. Happy Fri!

What I did for the first week when I was home alone (with 2 under 2!) is to lock all 3 of us up in the nursery when I was doing feedings. I made sure the nursery was toddler friendly so that no matter what the eldest got into, I could handle the clean up after!

That's how I survived anyway!

He looks like a doll, Summer! So handsome! Isn't it amazing how much bigger your first "baby" looks when #2 comes home?? I thought Noel suddenly looked HUGE! (And of course, she was quite small for her age!) :) You'll do great having 2 by yourself...it'll seem normal in no time!

Sounds like it's going great, and your little family is so cute. I'm so nervous for this week when John goes back to work and I only have 1 to take care of.

Keep up the great work mama.

about this blog

Hello, I'm Summer. A people-loving introvert whose hope and life is in Jesus. His promises are my passion and my ministry is homelife. This blog is a place for me to write about everyday things. Especially food. My favorite thing to do is sit around a table, lingering over a long meal with good conversation. I live with my husband and our 2 littles. We like blizzards, thrifting, grammar, guacamole, cheerful hearts, nice manners, good movies, and making simple, real, nutrient-dense food.

"If Christ be anything, He must be everything."
-C.H. Spurgeon
